Awesome ampYour only gonna hear bees and Buzztone if you 'Improperly' EQ the amp by running the treble and presence too high, which is about 3-5 max (user error)Wow, I guess I'll agree to disagree with the massesKeep in mind that 10 years ago the majority of forums hated on this line.Ironically, I liked the tones but avoided them due to the non stop trips to the techSomehow opinions have reversed- I'm guessing due to the cheap used prices. I'd take a Peavey, but I guess beauty of tone is interpretive. I had one of those years ago. Decent but had technical difficulties.

However I played a newer one at a GC here and was impressed.through a used marshall vintage cab it sounded very good.better than what I remember my old one to sound like. I think if they are more reliable these days they are a great value, even if they are made in China.the one I played was stock with no boost.I would think it would sound REALLY good with one of my pedals.lots of guys gig with them and leave their boutiques at home. Back in the day I saw plenty of TSL and DSL401 dislike, but DSL heads were generally liked.I think if you get a later model DSL from the UK, that would be the best bet if you are looking for a reliable one.For some reason I have never owned a DSL head.

Started with a DSL401, then went to a 6101 LE, then to my current silver jubilee 2553. I always have liked the tone of the DSL amps when I have demo'ed them. Madnick donovan operating systems reviews Thirty years ago, Madnick and Donovan were respected profs at MIT and this book is based on class tested material on operating system theory and design. It is largely based on the IBM MVS OS implemented on the IBM 360 architecture, two of the finest achievements in computer history.

I always have liked the tone of the DSL amps when I have demo'ed them.In regards to the JCM 2000 DSL 50 heads I haven't seen this 'Thermal Runaway' issue on them so far what I've been reading online, it just seems that issue has been with the DSL 100's and the TSL's but I could be wrong? So I've been reading reviews and watching YouTube clips of them. Been looking at 50 watters for gigs/practice/recording. Is it reliable & versatile enough to get tones ranging from clean to edge-of-breakup rhythm and lead to hard rockin/heavy & modern metal? My main cab I use is the Marshall 1960 you see in my sig.Seen a couple vids and it seems like the DigiTech Bad Monkey is a good boost for them.

Thoughts?I've never played through that particular model. But, I just played a DSL40 the other day at GC.I was very disappointed in the high gain. 'High' is not what the gain is on that amp. It's more of a distortion for crunchy rhythm. The clean tone was actually not that bad, and it was decent for distorted blues tones. The JCM2000 is claimed to be a very high gain amp, so the DSL40 may not be representative of the JCM.The JCM800 is legendary, but everyone I know who had/has one uses a pedal to get a really high gain tone. But, for high gain goodness, you've got a 6505+.Why bother with the JCM?

I bought an old UK built DSL100 as a wet amp primarily. After playing around with it a bit and getting the right tubes in it for my liking, =C= power and a few particular 12AX's, I really like the amp. It covers tons of ground and the clean channel takes boost pedals very well.I have taken mine out to play 4 or 5 times. Never had any issues with it. Always there great crunchy Marshall tone.

Very user friendly amp. I use an EQ in the loop to get a wider variety of more Mesa type scooped sounds. It is pretty hard to fuck up your sound with this amp. Your plug and play Rick an roll metal sound over a few decades. Aside of bad tubes maybe, not being able to dial in a DSL 100 is probably a sign to take up drums. I found it to a be a great amp.I often was told by touring musicians I had the best sounding DSL50 rig they had ever heard. This was from both musicians and back end techs and I was often asked how I got the nearly perfect classic rock sound out of such a cheap and available amp.It was pretty simple.I used only the green channel as I thought it sounded better less harsh highs and more bottom end but lacked gain and I hate gain/overdrive pedals for the most part.So what I found thru testing many setup & pedals was to slam the front end of the amp with pure clean boost.

I used a Super Chili Picoso - set that about 70% and turned that amp into a classic rock monster with singing mids, thunderous lows and crisp highs. I often had the bass set at 2-3 and could shake the stage with a 2x12 bogner open backed Bogner cab.!!! Great clubbing amp - I never had to crank it to unreasonable levels. The only mod to that amp head was putting in KT77 tubes.I put a GE7 in the loop with boosted mids for lead solos and it was a great amp that allowed me to control everything from the stage.I would use one again in a heartbeat if I toured or played in bigger clubs. Was shopping for a cheap tube head a few years ago and they had one at GC for $500.

Grabbed an ESP Eclipse and headed off to the loud room to jam a bit.Fell in love with it. For me, it sounded great. Bout 2 years later, had it retubed and looked over and it sounded that much better to me.Traded it for a 5150 sig cause I always wanted one and then my friend who I traded with asked if I wanted it back because he needed to get rid of it for an out of state move.

I jumped at the chance to get it back.I dig this amp. Very happy to have it and my 5150.
