The Barracuda Mk I has been the world leader in motorcycle engine buggies for 12 years. In 2017 the Mk II Barracuda was released, bringing several upgrades, updates and design tweaks.Many of the Mk I parts are compatible with the Mk II Barracuda. Where a Mk I component has been superseded by a new version, this has been noted.
The Mk I parts list only contains those parts which are not compatible with the Mk II Barracuda and are available for existing Barracuda Mk I owners or build projects in progress.The primary component differences are listed below: Rear SuspensionThe Mk I Barracuda was equipped with PIRCV rear suspension. The Mk II Barracuda now features the CV2 rear suspension. Front Suspension UprightsThe Mk II Barracuda uprights have revised geometry with more height and steeper kingpin inclination. This brings the Barracuda suspension in line with the X2 buggy with common parts. The Mk II uprights also feature XVS brake calipers and 207mm rotors - these brakes were available as an upgrade for the Mk I Barracuda but are now standard for the Mk II. The Mk I's original CAL032 brakes cannot be fitted to the Mk II. Front Upper Suspension ArmsThe Mk I one-piece welded arms have been replaced with two-piece 'knife-and-fork' arms which allow easier caster adjustment.

The Barracuda’s original PIRCV rear suspension has been overhauled into the tougher CV2 unit, originally developed for the X2 buggy with tougher arms and driveline and more brake options. The CV2 reverse also integrates electric reverse.The Barracuda’s front upper suspension arms have been replaced with a two-piece design which is easier to fabricate and provides more adjustability. These work in conjunction with taller uprights which run twin-piston XVS calipers and larger brake rotors. The Barracuda front suspension is now fully interchangeable with the X2 buggy.On the chassis side, the Barracuda Mk II introduces a fabricated hip frame for ease of construction, several structural improvements and an aluminium high-capacity fuel tank.A whole new level.The Barracuda has taken the Mini buggy concept to a whole new level of technical advancement & sophistication. Side mounted motor.Power comes from a trail or motocross bike motor mounted alongside the driver. Front Suspension is Single ‘A’ Arm with coilover shock absorbers. Rear Suspension is a durable swingarm with solid axle and single coilover mono-shock. Precise control on rough terrain.Drive is chain direct from the motor to the axle, with the motor’s sprocket positioned inline with the suspension arm pivot point for reliable and precise chain tension. Steering is via a car-type rack & pinion to eliminate bump-steer and give precise control on rough terrain.
